Newsletter: Hot Club of Spokane opens for THE STOLEN SWEETS!! Thursday, July 17th

Greetings Swing Fans!

Special thanks to all our fans for making our recent concert at Arbor Crest Winery a huge success!  We hope you'll join us again, as we open another special concert next THURSDAY, July 17th, at The Spokane Masonic Center!

We'll be opening for our good friends The Stolen Sweets, who perform vintage jazz with 3 part female vocal harmony celebrating the Boswell Sisters!  The Boswells were the first girl group on the American jazz scene back in the 1930s, and their music influenced everyone from The Andrews Sisters to Ella Fitzgerald.  The Portland, OR based group, The Stolen Sweets, combine acrobatic Boswellian harmonies with gypsy jazz accompaniment to create a delicious, "guilt-free sampling of 1930s swing jazz confection."

Tickets can be purchased through TicketsWest at www.ticketswest.com, or by calling 1-800-325-SEAT.   Tickets are just $18 for adults, $12 for seniors/students.

Tickets can also be purchased through local participating Kiwanis Clubs.  The Stolen Sweets concert will be helping to raise money for local community programs for children, including the Kiwanis KeyLeader program, and also, a playground installation in the Division Y neighborhood, where children currently need to cross a freeway in either direction to access playground equipment.  Please contact Gary Jespersen at (509) 999-2634 for more information about these tickets.

The Stolen Sweets will be performing in the Commandery Room at The Spokane Masonic Center, which is a charming ballroom with a large balcony.  Guests can sit in the balcony, or join the dancers on the main floor dance floor!  Light refreshments will be available for purchase at the show.

The Spokane Masonic Center is at 1108 W Riverside, right next door to The Spokane Club and The Inlander.

The Stolen Sweets are presented by Spokane's River 99.9FM and Think SWING! Jazz and Blues Festival, with generous sponsorship from Washington Trust Bank, The Pacific Northwest Inlander, Finders Keepers, Walker Construction, and The Daniel Bubb Family.

Join us for an incredible evening of vintage jazz, as well as an opportunity to purchase discounted day passes for the November 8th Think SWING! Jazz and Blues Festival concerts at The Knitting Factory - Just $20 each if you purchase them at the Stolen Sweets concert on July 17th!!
